Thomas Raine was born on 7 March 1920 and enrolled at the School on 20 September 1932.
During World War II, Thomas served as a Flight Sergeant in 159 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Thomas died on 29 December 1944 and his name is listed on the Singapore Memorial which commemorates airmen who died during operations in southern and eastern Asia and the surrounding seas and oceans.
His name is also recorded on the Grammar School’s War Honours Board — alongside the names of all of the Grammar School’s alumni to die in the First and Second World Wars.
