John Tyreman was born on 27 June 1916 and enrolled at the School on 17 September 1928.
During the Second World War, John served as a Sergeant Pilot with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve 9 Squadron.
He died on 20 December 1942, aged 26, and is buried in Oosterhout, Holland. His name is also recorded on the Grammar School’s War Honours Board — alongside the names of all of the Grammar School’s alumni to die in the First and Second World Wars.
